Just a quick post here. Jaime and I were brainstorming some future road trips that are doable from Chicago. We actually came up with this list quite a while ago, but I’m hoping that posting this will get us to start knocking them out.
Here’s the current list:
- Memphis, TN (7 hours)
— we already did this one a month ago; one down! - Madison, WI (3 hours)
- Louisville, KY (4 hours)
- Minneapolis, MN (7 hours)
- Columbus, OH (5 hours)
- Detroit, MI/Windsor, ON (4 hours)
We also came up with a list of cities we’d like to visit, but are not within driving range:
- Charleston, SC
- Austin, TX
— we were in San Antonio recently, but didn’t make it to Austin; so close! - Portland, OR
- Seattle, WA
- Denver, CO
- Las Vegas, NV
In other news, I’m just finished typing up my entire journal from the Vietnam, Cambodia, and South Korea trip. I plan on posting it here once I clean it up a little bit, so stay tuned!

If you go to Minneapolis, I highly recommend the Hyatt Whitney’s Sunday brunch. It was the best brunch I have had anywhere.
Also if you ever plan to hit Denver give me a heads up and I will ask Brook and Lori for any don’t-miss local places.
